Spring Buyer's Guide: Italian Linen Scarf by Acne

Stockholm based Acne produced a classic for their spring collection, a linen scarf. The Italian made scarf is dyed an amazing streaky smokey blue. A good light weight scarf is always a hard fine and never as easy to make as it would seem, hats off to Acne for hitting the nail on the head with their offering.

Available at The Corner.

Spring Buyer's Guide: Raf Simons Tee Shirt Pant

Brought back from the archives by Raf Simons exclusively for London boutique LN-CC. The tee shirt pant is one of my favorite pieces from early Simons collections as well as being a perfect spring pant. The light weight oversized pant is great paired with a fitted jacket and chunky shoes.

Get over to LN-CC to grab a pair before they are again gone for good!

Spring Buyer's Guide: Andreas Sunglasses by Robert Geller

For spring and summer every one loves a new pair of sunglasses, which better than the new shape from Robert Geller. Sunglasses have become one of the big things to look for from Geller in recent years with the glasses regularly selling out everywhere. This season the new shape echos the late 1960's.

Grab a pair today from ALWAYSNEVER before they sell out!

Saks Continues It's Desperation Moves

"SAKS SALE INTEL —The discounts are coming! Our Saks Fifth Avenue informant tells us that today is the day for the first reductions on fall merchandise—40% off all those early fall deliveries you've had your eyes on. Don't wait too long for further discounts, though—we're told what doesn't sell is getting shipped to outlets. We guess designers didn't love the idea of their $2000 dresses languishing on clearance racks for months and months. And take heed, once the prices fall at one department store, you'll find similar deals at the others. [RackedWire]"

courtesy of Racked.com

Saks Fifth Avenue is the most desperate of all the big box luxury retailers as far as I am concerned. Saks shows no believe in their vendors/designers as well as their associates. If I am running a store I am not going to be the first one every season to break price, it hurts your margins first and foremost but I believe the most damaging aspect of the early break is the perception. Consumers are noticing Saks early trends thus wait for the early break and not buying at retail (hey everyone wants a good deal can't blame them). The other side of the perception angle is it really shows that Saks is not truly behind their seasonal buys, if they felt they brought in the best and strongest selection each season they wouldn't be racing to mark it all down. Anyways at the end of the day this kind of retail behavior hurts everyone in the industry from the designers down to the sales associates. It also hurts the consumer unbeknownst to many, as the more retailers mark down early the less they favorite designer will sell to those stores making your favorite designer less and less accessible.

That is my rant. If you have anything to contribute please feel free.

Ok so I get asked/gushed to/poked fun of/petted/etc about my hair on a regular basis, so I figured I would let you in on what I use. I keep it simple I use a shampoo called
Cutler Daily Shampoo, this shit is fantastic. I wash my hair every day and this shampoo really does the trick, it keeps my hair hella clean and soft plus it smells pretty damn good. I picked this up from Miomia in Williamsburg and I suggest you give it a shot.

The Future Perfect

This is the furniture/housewares store to put all others to shame. Quite the way to introduce a place isn't it, well The Future Perfect lives up to that opening and to its own grandiose name. This two level shop on N.6th street in Williamsburg is home to some of the most amazing pieces to fill your apartment/house/loft/room/rented closet, etc. with. To attempt to describe it would be to shame the entire store as my words are not good enough to keep up with the inventory they have. Please do your self a favor and check it out.

The Future Perfect.

New York Today

Fucking tourists shots! Hey look mom Wash. Sq!

Long day good day. I took only a few digital shots today but got some good film shots with an old Canon TX I will process them and scan them by the end of the week. Picked up a couple basic Uniqlo Vneck tee shirts and went around to Seven NYC, Odin, Blue & Green, Nom de Guerre, and other places, but I'm broke so oh well. Odin was nice met a dude named Thomas there super cool talked for awhile about Robert Geller's SS08 collection amongst other things. Tired now and am headed back up to the city later this week to meet with Ksubi for SS08 orders, should be good times, I'm looking forward to it.
