Black Noise White Rain @ Assembly

Chronicles Of Never's man with the plan Gareth Moody presented his latest collection to us this past week in new LES shopping destination Assembly. Moody's collection was accompanied by his art work which adorned the walls of the narrow space. Archetype showroom helped out with throwing the event which was boozed up by Svedka Vodka and Newcastle Ale so you know it was a good time.

Listen to it.

Capsule Show

This seasons Capsule Tradeshow was a very short experience for me this season. I really only walked the floor for about 30 minutes and glanced through a couple lines.

Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair: The line looked fantastic, great proportions and style albeit very reminiscence of Rick Owens but more accessible.

Julian Red: Piotr showed me some pieces from the line and it was of course strong. Very much so moving in the direction of a full and complete collection and less of just a jeans company. JR's spring was light and airy I dug it.

Wrath Arcane: Its looking like the boys and girls of Cleveland are stepping it up. The line looked nice and the fabrics and construction was stronger. Some very strong pieces for spring from them.

Fremont: Devin and Brittany have put together a well curated spring line from Fremont. The line keeps growing and getting more focused I like what I'm seeing from them. Its always about the little details with Fremont.

I think thats pretty much all I checked out while I was there as I was kind of in a hurry so I hope that gives some idea.

Junya Watanabe

Junya has created a traveling mans collection, one that Wes Anderson would be very at home with. This beautifully curated presentation of suiting from Watanabe was a true treat. So traditional and classically inspired yet so modern and relevant all in the same breath. The colors and fabrics were fantastic, the proportions and fits even more so. The models could have kept walking right off the cat walk and on to a train car to Eastern Asia the looks screamed versatility and comfort, very well done and made it all look easy. Oh by the way many of the jackets were reversible. Watanabe did this in such a way that it was a real kick in the teeth as if they weren't good enough the first time around the jackets were tremendous inside out. Well played Mr. Watanabe.

Dior Homme

Well this was a train wreck that not even Amtrak could compete with. KVA has done it, he has destroyed Dior Homme. Dior Homme has become something of a sideshow, instead of being dark, elegant, and rock all rolled up into one slim package it is now; cheap, showy, flashy and very D&G. Ugh the hot mess it was. Dior Homme has lost it completely, bet they were wishing they were more flexible with Heidi now. Nothing short of an embarrassment unfortunately. This show had no presence in my mind, err I take that back it had plenty of presence just in the form of the giant pink elephant in the corner everyone is trying not to mention.

Some Shitty Sketches

Title sums it up. I fucked up the legs on both oh well i was just rushing and am not sure i much like either of them.
