What Are You Wearing Today?

Sidney Lo has crashed supertalk today because of the positive press about this evening's opening of his WAYWT Photo project. Both We Are The Market & Coolhunting have posted about this event, it should be fun I'll see you guys there. Good luck to Sid.

UPDATE:
Sid's opening was a good time I must say, very cool to see the evolution through out the last 367 days of what he's worn and how his Flathead jeans evolved and how much his hair grew. Sid put a lot of work into this installation and it was cool that there was a big attendance for the event. It was also good to meet many of the guys from the land of superfuture.

3:33 Footwear

I just saw a nice little write up about California based 3:33 footwear by the JC Report. I must say I really dig this small footwear line. So simplistic but so well done all at the same time. I will be looking to get my hands on a pair of the used white lo's pictured above for this summer. Check out 3:33 here

Beat Poet

Beat Poet is the German founded Melbourne based fashion collection currently making waves in Australia. I have found my self constantly looking to the land down under at all of the great stuff coming out of there such as Who Am Eye and Stolen Girl Friends Club (actually based out of New Zealand). I just checked out Beat Poet's most recent collection and I must say its fantastic collection called R.U.I.N.S. and is for the Southern Hemisphere's AW08 season. Check out Beat Poet here.

Ugh Make It Stop

Pete Wentz is going to be doing another capsule collection only this time with Nordstroms (as reported by WWD) and no longer with DKNY. The line collection will be another avenue of polluting the world of fashion with is Clandestine Industries label. This venture will be produced in house by Nordstrom's Product Group and sold through the department's BP juniors department. Wentz insists that he will be designing it in a unisex manor. The capsule collection is to hit floors next month.

S2A x LEVIS @ SXSW

Surface to Air Paris the art collective/clothing brand from Paris is making the trip to Austin, TX to partner up with Levi's. The two brands will be working together on a party and showcase at the annual music fest. In yet another (Warhol Factory, House of Holland, etc) attempt at keeping a head of the pack Levi's has chosen a cult brand to work with. This should be an interesting collaboration, and I for one am super interested in its outcome.

H&M Purchases Cheap Monday

Swedish fast fashion giant H&M has purchased a 60% stake in Fabric Scandinavien the parent company of Cheap Monday. The 60% stake cost H&M a cool $92 million US (564 million kronor), with the option to buy out the remaining 40% of the next several years. What does this mean for Cheap Monday? Well it means that the company will most likely become more profitable as they will probably begin to work with H&M's manufacturing facilities and distribution centers. This buy out does not mean that CM will be stocked at H&M's its unlikely that that will occur. It will be interesting to see what occurs from this partnership and how this effects buyers worldwide, I feel CM has steadily alienated those who first embraced the brand and this might be the final step in that direction.

10 Men Spring Out Now

10 Men spring 2008 is out now, and reformatted. Ryan McGinley is on the cover decked out in all Theory. Great features on both Raf Simons and Lanvin are in this issue. I highly recommend you pick one up at your local magazine shop.

Edit. I'm still waiting for this seasons VMan as well, wish it would come out already.
