Superfuture's Supertalk's Supercrash

Well its happened again, superfuture.supertalk.com forums have been overloaded and crashed. Its been a couple days now and the forums are still down unfortunately. The crew at superfuture has dealt with huge spikes in traffic recently which has caused all of the disruption on the site. I hope everything gets fixed with the servers and best of luck to the superfuture team.

Robert Geller Takes Over Den

Robert Geller is invading Odin's Den starting tomorrow. I am extremely excited for this as Geller is one of my favorite designers. This is a much check out as Geller's California inspired spring summer line will be presented. Odin did a great minimalist house dark wood house frame build in Den to complement the collection. Go there and get blown away, I will.

S2A x Justice

Surface To Air Paris is at it again. The Parisian arts/clothing collective will be working with Justice the DJ duo who have stormed the music scene with well help from Surface To Air. This collaboration has worked in the past, there is evidence of that in the MTV Europe award winning video for "We Are You Friends" which was directed by Surface To Air. This time around though the two sides are working on creating a capsule collection, this should be interesting and something to keep your eyes open for.

Who Am Eye

Just a couple things about the boys from down under. As some may know I have a soft spot for Aussie/NZ brands and Who Am Eye is one of the collections that has secured a spot with me. I had the please of meeting one half of the team this past week here in New York. Johnny Leong is half of the brains and vision of this up and coming brand and he brought with him some preview pieces of SS 08/09(remember southern hemisphere lives in a backwards world of seasons) collection entitled "Love Will Tear Us Apart". Let me tell you these samples were simply fantastic there is no other way to put it. I will scan the look book and give some descriptions when I can, you will not be disappointed. We're hoping to work together Johhny and my self to bring Who Am Eye to the states and if that occurs kids it will tear you clean out of your Ksubi attire in a heartbeat. This collection they are presenting for SS08/09 is so versatile while remaining remarkably cohesive and direct with their vision.

John Varvatos Takes To The Bowery

John Varvatos opened up his concept shop this week in CBGBs legendary home where some the venue's skeleton is still visible in several places . The Varvatos team did a very good job with the construction and restoration. It was a pretty impressive job they did and stocked their racks with the signature clothing and terrific footwear. There is also a nice stock of the collaboration effort of Varvatos and Converse peppered in on the racks. The staff in the boutique is great an attentive and informed me the Varvatos plans on hosted live acts in store on their expandable stage. Oh don't forget some of the vintage vinyls available in up front in the shop, definitely a new place to go through and check out. Forgot to mention, if you love Chucks better get down to Varvatos ASAP there is a series of 6 designs (could be 5 cant recall) that are limited to only 18 pieces each, they were all fantastic takes on the original.

H&M x Comme Des Garcons

Scandinavian fast fashion giant H&M just unveiled its latest collaboration effort with Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garcons. Kawakubo will be doing womens, mens, childrens, and a fragrance for H&M. The collaboration collection should debut in November. Expect this to sell out in the same fashion as the Viktor & Rolf, Roberto Cavalli, and Stella McCartney collections did so mark your calenders.
